In the Soul Society arc, she initially wanders with Uryū Ishida before being captured by Makizō Aramaki and freed by Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. During the Arrancar invasion, her power's attack component was destroyed by Yammy, leaving her sidelined until Hachigen Ushōda restored Tsubaki. Her journey begins when she becomes spiritually aware after being saved by Ichigo from Acidwire, the hollow form of her late brother Sora. She uses Shun Shun Rikka to save Tatsuki Arisawa during an attack on Karakura High School. In the Soul Society arc, she joins the rescue mission for Rukia. Her path leads her to Hueco Mundo where she confronts Aizen's plans and witnesses the fatal duel between Ichigo and Ulquiorra. After returning to the living world, she survives a Fullbring attack by Tsukishima that altered her memories. In the final conflict against the Wandenreich, she plays a crucial role in saving an overwhelmed Ichigo. Ten years after these events, she marries Ichigo, and they have a son named Kazui Kurosaki.
