The halberd gained significant infamy during the trial of Rukia Kuchiki, where it was intended as the method for her execution before Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies arrived at Sōkyoku Hill to stop the executioner directly. This event highlighted both the weapon's lethality and the difficulty in securing targets powerful enough to warrant its use. While rarely seen in active combat, its existence serves as a deterrent among those who might plot against the Soul Society. Following Aizen's defeat, a new Central 46 was reconstituted and remained in power until its assassination by Yhwach at the onset of the Thousand-Year Blood War invasion.
