However, their existence is defined by a tragic cycle of war; every time they rise to prominence, they are hunted down until only a few remain, forcing them into the shadows or under the banner of a single tyrant.

In Their Own Story

The air in the abandoned district tasted of ozone and old dust. A young Quincy adjusted his grip on the bow that materialized from thin air, its wood glowing with a faint, ethereal blue light. He could feel the Hollow approaching—a screech tearing through the silence of the night. Unlike the Soul Reapers who would guide this monster to death, he intended to erase it entirely. With a sharp exhale, he drew his arm back; an arrow of pure spiritual pressure formed instantly. "You do not belong here," he whispered, releasing the shot. The light struck true, and the Hollow simply ceased to exist, leaving behind only silence.

The Quincy hierarchy is strictly stratified, with Yhwach serving as the absolute emperor at the apex of the Vandenreich. Below him are the Sternritter, elite warriors each granted a unique power symbolized by an English letter on their uniform. These elites command various divisions and act as the primary military force. Their core philosophy is rooted in the belief that they must protect humanity from Hollows without the interference of Soul Reapers. They view the destruction of Hollows as necessary to prevent the accumulation of souls, which they believe leads to chaos. This ideology drives their antagonism toward the Gotei 13 and the Soul Society. In the overarching conflict, the Quincy serve as the catalyst for the Thousand-Year Blood War. Their resurgence forces a total mobilization of the Soul Reapers, leading to a war that threatens the existence of all three worlds: the Human World, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo.
